THE LOOP- origins

As some of you know, Tim and I will be departing toNIGHT for a fantastic voyage across this great nation of ours in hopes of not only bettering ourselves through the majesty of the American Highway system, but also bettering others from our exploits. In light of this fact, we have decided to document this trip to the best of our ability on this here blog page.

Our goal is simple: to entertain you as we trek across the country en route to Chicago, ILL and ultimately Dallas, TX for the NBA’s All-Star Weekend.

There will be photos, videos, diaries and other updates from the vast stretches of bucolic road we have decided to travel upon.

We are calling this trip “The Loop”, not only because one of our heroes, the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 1994 and Simi Valley legend Don MacLean, does his own version of “The Loop” every Saturday (his consists of filling his Tahoe with gasoline and stopping at STAR Donuts in the Oakbrook Shopping Center), but because the full loop that Tim and I will complete between now and February 15 represents the coming of age acted out in so many movies, books and songs.

The Loop is an insular event that cannot have a beginning or an end. It happens once, yet never ends.

The Loop is a journey. It begins tonight.
